Rocks and boulders don't stand a chance when you're in an ARGO or a Centaur
We asked Rich Mellon, the host of TV’s “Outdoor Quest” to test drive the machines and evaluate their rock climbing capabilities and here is what he said. “I had an absolute blast in both the Centaur and ARGO. These machines are capable of going up, over and through almost any type of rock terrain, given enough traction.”
Another good example of the ARGO’s dominance on rocky landscapes is the world renowned Rubicon Trail located in the California High Sierra Mountains. In both 2004 and 2005 a brave group of ARGO enthusiasts set out to see just exactly what the ARGOs were capable of. The Rubicon Trail is known as the ‘granddaddy of all off-highway trails’ and is approximately twelve miles of rocky, non-maintained El Dorado and Placer county roads. Along the way the group faced steep rock cliffs, challenging ravines and even a few bears which they managed to scare off with some pepper spray. Nevertheless the group completed the trip and proved beyond a doubt that the ARGO is the perfect vehicle for rocky terrain.
