Hunter Uses ARGO From Coast to Coast
When New
Jersey resident Michael Lamp saw his first ARGO at an off-road ATV Rally
in 1976 it was love at first site. Despite being a paraplegic and only
having $500 to his name, Mike was determined to get his hands on one. He
went immediately to his closest dealer who gave him a great deal on one
of the first ARGO’s ever made. Nearly 35 years since that day, Mike
continues to be a loyal customer. Having hunted all over North America,
Mike credits his incalculable game successes to the ARGO’s incredible
perseverance in the toughest situations. One instance in particular
stands out in Mike’s mind as a scenario in which no other off-road ATV
could have done the job. On a 1999 moose hunt, Mike and his group were
18 km off the trail, deep into the Newfoundland bush. Mike had just shot
a bull moose at the top of a steep hill and was apprehensive about
retrieving his catch. Never one to back down from a challenge, Mike
tactfully maneuvered his ARGO up the steep vertical ascent and was
easily able to recover his prize.
Newfoundland however, is not the
only treacherous environment Mike has ventured into with his beloved
ARGO. From coast to coast, New Hampshire to New Mexico Mike boasts of
the incredible 68 big game animals he has caught in his trusty ARGO.
While he no longer has that first model purchased way back in 1976, Mike
continues to upgrade with every model Ontario Drive & Gear (ODG)
has introduced. “I just love how they consistently improve it each time
they release a new model,” Mike remarks when asked of his incessant
vehicle upgrading. Venturing forth on yet another big game hunt later
this month, Mike evokes nothing but self-confidence when questioned on
his latest trek. “I have the utmost respect for the ARGO, they’ve never
let me down and better yet, they’ve never left me stranded in the
woods”!
